Wellbeing Support
Sometimes you don't need to be in crisis. You just need some space for you.
What is Wellbeing?
Wellbeing is about how you are feeling and functioning in your everyday life - emotionally, mentally, socially and practically. It can include how you manage stress, relationships, work, confidence, change, responsibilities and the many things that can affect how you feel from one day to the next.
Wellbeing is not about being happy all the time or having everything in your life perfectly balanced. It's about understanding what you need to feel more settled, supported and able to manage everyday life. Sometimes nothing is dramatically "wrong," but you may notice that you are tired, overwhelmed, frustrated, lacking motivation or simply not feeling like yourself. Wellbeing support gives you somewhere to talk about those things.
How Does Talking Help?
Talking gives you the opportunity to slow things down. When thoughts, feelings and responsibilities are all going around in your head, it can be difficult to know what you really think, what you need or what needs to change. Having a conversation with someone who listens without judgement can help you make sense of things.
You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about. Sometimes the starting point is simply "I'm not quite sure what's wrong, but I know I don't feel like myself." We can start there.
How is Wellbeing Support Different From Counselling?
Counselling often gives you the opportunity to explore emotional difficulties, experiences from the past, patterns of behaviour, trauma, anxiety, depression or other concerns that may be having a significant impact on your life.
Wellbeing support can be lighter and more focused on the here and now. You may not want or need to explore your whole history - you may have one particular area of your life that you would like to understand or improve. The conversation can focus on what is happening for you now, what you would like to be different and what might help you move forward.
And if, during those conversations, it becomes clear that counselling may be more helpful, we can talk about that with you. There is no pressure and no judgement.
Support That's Specific to You
There is no single formula for wellbeing because everyone is different. What helps one person may not help another. For you, wellbeing might mean learning to say no without feeling guilty. For someone else, it might mean feeling less isolated, managing work pressure, rebuilding confidence or finding some balance after a difficult period.
We start with you, not with what we think you should need. We listen to what is happening in your life, what matters to you and what you would like support with. Together, we can focus on the areas that feel most important.
How Wellbeing Support Can Help
Sometimes being heard properly can make a difference. Talking can help you:
Organise thoughts that feel muddled or overwhelming
Understand what may be affecting your mood or energy
Recognise patterns in your everyday life
Identify what you need, and consider different choices or possibilities
Build confidence in your own decisions
Create small, realistic changes, and feel less alone with what you are carrying
You are not being told how to live your life. The aim is to give you the space and support to understand yourself better and find your own way forward.
Who is Wellbeing Support For?
Wellbeing support can be useful if you are coping with everyday life but feel that something could be better. You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, tired or unsure about what comes next. You may simply want somewhere to talk.
It can also be helpful if you are going through a period of change, carrying a lot of responsibility, or noticing that you are spending so much time looking after everyone else that there is very little space left for you. You do not have to wait until things become unbearable before asking for support.
Wellbeing support is available to adults aged 18 and over, anywhere in the UK, by phone or video call.
